Privacy Policy for Sum Trail
Last updated: July 27, 2026
Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how Sum Trail handles data when you use the app.
Simple Summary
Sum Trail stores game progress locally on your device. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or account login. The app uses Google AdMob to show rewarded and full-screen (interstitial) ads (a one-time purchase to remove the interstitials is available), and Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app usage. These services may process limited technical and usage data for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, analytics, and compliance.
About the App
Sum Trail is an offline-first math path puzzle game. The app can be used without creating an account or signing in.
Data Stored on Your Device
Sum Trail stores some game data locally on your device, including:
- Your gem balance and level progress
- The current level and any unfinished trail, so you can resume
- Daily challenge completion history and streaks
- Your selected theme and any themes you have unlocked
- Whether you have seen the tutorial and first-time tile tips
This data is stored using app storage on your device. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in your device settings.
Personal Data
Sum Trail does not require account sign-in.
We do not ask you to provide:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Account login details
However, third-party advertising providers such as Google AdMob may process limited technical data as explained in the Advertising section.
Advertising
Sum Trail uses Google AdMob to show ads. These include rewarded ads that grant optional in-game gems, and occasional full-screen (interstitial) ads shown between levels. A one-time in-app purchase to remove the interstitial ads is available.
For ad requests, the app currently sets:
- Maximum ad content rating: PG (parental guidance)
- A consent or privacy message where Google requires one; your choices there determine whether personalised ads are used
AdMob and its partners may process limited technical data such as:
- Device information
- Advertising ID or similar device/ad identifiers, where available and permitted
- Approximate location
- Ad interaction data
- App activity related to ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention
This data may be used to show ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and support advertising compliance.
Whether personalised or non-personalised ads are shown depends on your region and the consent choices you make.

Consent for Ads
For users in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, and Switzerland, Sum Trail may show a consent or privacy message before loading ads where required.
Your choices in that message determine whether personalised or non-personalised ads are shown.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
Limited technical data may be processed by third-party advertising providers for:
- Ad delivery
- Ad measurement
- Fraud prevention
- App advertising compliance
Limited technical and usage data is also processed by Google for analytics, as described below.
Analytics
Sum Trail uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used in aggregate — for example app opens, sessions, and general usage trends — so we can improve it.
Firebase Analytics is provided by Google and may process limited technical and usage data, such as:
- Device and app information (e.g. device model, operating system, app version)
- A Firebase installation identifier and, where available and permitted, an advertising identifier
- In-app events and usage activity
- Coarse location estimated from IP address
We use this data to analyse performance and usage in aggregate and do not use it to identify you personally. Sum Trail does not currently use a separate crash-reporting tool.

Device Permissions
Sum Trail does not request access to sensitive device features such as:
- Contacts or address book
- Camera or microphone
- Phone or SMS capabilities
- Precise device location
Children
Sum Trail is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed to children.
Ad requests use a maximum content rating of PG, as described in the Advertising section above. Parents or guardians should supervise children’s use of the app where appropriate.
We will only change these settings if the app’s target audience, product design, legal requirements, or store policy requirements change.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy in future app versions. Updates will be reflected by changing the “Last updated” date.
