Privacy Policy for Splitcell
Last updated: July 5, 2026
This policy explains how Cheam Tech Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"), which publishes games under the name Quantum Drift Labs, handles information when you use Splitcell.
Simple Summary
Splitcell stores your game progress locally on your device and does not require an account. Optional ads are provided through Google AdMob: rewarded ads you choose to watch for a bonus, and a full-screen ad shown between outbreaks. Optional in-app purchases (Remove Ads and DNA packs) are handled by your app store. Optional daily reminders are local notifications scheduled by your device.
About the App
Splitcell is a survival-arena game in which you control a single-celled microbe, fire spores at swarming enemies, level up to choose mutations for the current run, and spend an in-game currency called DNA on permanent upgrades between runs.
Information You Provide
Splitcell does not ask you to create an account or enter your name or other personal details to play.
If you contact us by email, we receive the email address, message, and any other information you choose to provide. We use that information to respond to your request and manage the correspondence.
Data Stored on Your Device
Splitcell stores game and preference data locally, including:
- Your DNA balance, including any DNA you have purchased
- Unlocked strains, mutations, and adaptation upgrade levels
- Whether the Remove Ads option has been purchased
- A record of processed purchase-transaction identifiers, used to avoid delivering the same purchase twice
- Personal records and lifetime totals, such as best survival time, best kills, best level, outbreaks played, and totals used for averages
- Daily reward streak and last-claim time
- Sound, vibration, notification, and other game settings
This data is saved using your device's standard app storage. We do not receive or store this saved game on our own systems. You can remove it by clearing the app's storage in your device settings or uninstalling the game.
Accounts and Personal Data
Splitcell does not require account registration or sign-in. We do not ask you to provide:
- Your real name
- Your postal address or phone number
- Account login details
- Payment card or bank details
Third-party advertising and app-store providers may process limited information as described below.
In-App Purchases
Splitcell offers optional in-app purchases, including Remove Ads and packs of DNA. Purchases are processed by your app store (for example Google Play, or Apple on iOS if released). We do not receive or store your payment card, bank, or full billing details.
From the store, we receive purchase-related information such as:
- The product identifier of the item bought
- A transaction or purchase identifier
- The purchase state
- A receipt or purchase token used to deliver the item and to restore eligible purchases
We use this information to deliver what you purchased, to restore eligible non-consumable purchases such as Remove Ads, and to keep a local record of processed transaction identifiers so the same purchase is not delivered twice. Purchases are subject to the terms and privacy policy of your app store.
Advertising and Ads
Splitcell uses Google AdMob to show two kinds of ads:
- Rewarded ads that you choose to watch in exchange for an optional bonus, such as reviving after a run ends, doubling the DNA earned, an extra mutation reroll, or doubling a daily reward. Normal gameplay remains available if you do not watch them.
- A full-screen (interstitial) ad that may appear between outbreaks. Purchasing Remove Ads removes this full-screen ad; the optional rewarded ads above remain available by your choice.
AdMob and its advertising partners may process information such as:
- Device and app information, including operating system and device type
- Advertising or device identifiers, where available and permitted
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Ad views, interactions, reward events, and related app activity
- Information used for ad delivery, frequency capping, measurement, fraud prevention, security, and legal compliance

Consent and Privacy Choices
Where required, including in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, and Switzerland, the game uses Google's consent tools to request or manage advertising choices before ads are loaded. Available choices depend on your region and Google's requirements.
Ad requests are configured as non-child-directed and with a maximum ad content rating of PG. The SDK's under-age-of-consent treatment setting is left unspecified. This setting does not replace the consent flow or any legal requirement that applies in your region.
You can revisit available advertising privacy choices from the game's Settings screen. You can also manage or reset advertising identifiers and personalised advertising through your device or Google account settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before the withdrawal.
How Information Is Used
The information described in this policy is used to:
- Save and restore game progress on your device
- Deliver and restore in-app purchases and prevent the same purchase being delivered twice
- Provide optional rewarded ads and grant the selected in-game reward
- Deliver, measure, and limit advertising
- Prevent advertising fraud and comply with legal obligations
- Respond when you contact us
Where UK or European data protection law applies, processing may rely on consent, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the game and advertising service, or compliance with a legal obligation, depending on the activity.
Local Notifications
With your permission, Splitcell can schedule a daily local reminder to claim your daily login reward. The notification is scheduled and displayed by your device; no personal data is sent to us to deliver it. You can turn notifications off in the game's Settings screen or in your device settings.
Data Sharing and International Transfers
We do not sell your personal information.
Advertising information may be processed by Google and its advertising partners, and purchase information by your app store, for the purposes described above. These providers may process data in countries outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area using safeguards required by applicable law.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
Splitcell does not currently use a separate analytics or crash-reporting service. AdMob may still process ad-related measurement, diagnostic, security, and fraud-prevention information as described above.
Device Permissions
The game uses internet access to load ads and may request notification permission if you enable reminders. It does not request access to contacts, the camera, microphone, phone or SMS features, or precise location. AdMob may use standard advertising-related permissions and identifiers where available and permitted.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local game data remains on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the game. Advertising and app-store providers retain information according to their own policies. Contact emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain necessary records, and meet legal obligations.
Children's Privacy
Splitcell is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over and is not directed to children under 13. Advertising is configured as non-child-directed with a maximum ad content rating of PG, while the SDK's under-age-of-consent treatment setting is left unspecified. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information by contacting us, please email us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of personal data, request data portability, or withdraw consent. Your saved game is held only on your device, so you control it through your device settings. For advertising data, use Google's privacy controls or contact Google as described in its policy.
If UK data protection law applies, you may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office:
